A mandala (Sanskrit for “circle”) is an artistic diagram of the Cosmos which uses geometric designs to create hypnotic patterns that represent wholeness and oneness. They are used in many cultures for introspection and meditation to focus one’s attention for a sense of peace and calm to ease the mind. Each piece is infused with imagery from nature and the elements to deepen its meaning and purpose. These objects have the power to shift the energy in any room and raise the vibration.
Henna is a plant (Lawsonia) that grows in warm climates—the leaves are dried and crushed into powder then used to create a natural paste that temporarily stains the skin and hair (which is its traditional use). I take this one step further by using the henna paste on wood as my medium for creating these magick portals to other dimensions.
